Chief Administrator of Gambella State, Omod Obong, awarded Ibrahim Abulla 21,000 birr and also granted him employment.
The Chief Administrator on the occasion said the state government and the people of Gambella are proud of the heroic deeds of Ibrahim Abulla.
Omod also urged the public to stand alongside the state government in resisting the activities of Shaebiya and its agents, the OLF and the Patriots Front, which are striving hard to subvert the prevailing peace in the state.
He said the efforts underway to weed out anti-peace elements who are busy working to disrupt peace and derail development and good governance in the state will be intensified.
The honored native of the state, Ibrahim Abulla, was approached by a member of OLF and a leader of Ethiopian Patriots Front early September and told to either cooperate with them or risk his life. Ibrahim agreed to cooperate but later killed both when they were asleep, it was learnt.
Ibrahim then handed over their guns, documents about the Patriots Front and a satellite mobile to officials.
