Gambella state gives prime attention to capacity building activities

March 17, 2010 (GAMBELLA, Ethiopia) — Administrator of the Gambella state, Guaner Yer, said the state government has paid prime attention to building capacity of leaderships so as to boost the development involvement and benefits of residents in the state.

Guaner made the above remark at the opening of a training of trainers (ToT) organized here yesterday to senior leaders of Gambella state with the theme “Let’s ensure the benefits of our people by improving our leadership qualities.

He said leaders have indispensable role towards mobilizing human resources for the success of the development and good governance activities designed by the state government.

He said national consensus, unity and motivations need to be created in order to bring about the required good governance and development outcomes in the state.

According to the deputy administrator, the training was organized with a view to enhancing the development participation and benefits of inhabitants of the state through building capacity of leaders.

The five–day ToT organized jointly by the Gambella state and Walta Information Center will discuss on major topics such as federal system, conflict management, conflict resolution, development, election code of conduct, among others.
