May 21, 2008 (Addis Ababa) - A bomb blast that occurred on Tuesday evening has killed five persons while inflicting serious and minor injuries on eight others, Police disclosed on Wednesday.
The bomb planted in a mini-bus taxi exploded yesterday around 8 PM near the office of the Ethiopian Mapping Authority killing the stated number of people.
According to the Metropolitan Police Deputy Commissioner, two of the victims died after reaching hospital.
There were 14 people on the board of the taxi, which was heading to Mexico Square, when the accident occurred, he said.
The driver of taxi escaped unscathed.
The police have launched investigation on the blast, according to the Deputy Commissioner
