I wanted to take the time to thank all of you who responded either in person or by telephone or by writing to my piece about the Anyuak Luo Identity Issues that appeared in the Anyuak Media a while back. The piece elicited very interesting discourse as you can see from the attached correspondence. I wanted to share and to say thank you to all because I know it takes time to read and to write back and it means a lot to an author of an article when people respond. I also must apologize for those I offended by the article, I meant it in a progressive sense, but I know others misread my intentions. All is well and good, and I am sorry for any misunderstanding or confusion. I learned a lot too, and I am sorry.

Regards,
Okall Langu

Mr Okall Langu, Joseph Opada & Others:

We need to debate or discuss issue in amicable manner. Providing each other space to
argue and defend their points without being confrontational and abusive. The language Mr. Joseph Opada used is very strong. Although warranted if Mr. Okall Langu language was threatening, but there are better way to handle personal attacks. The internet is a public medium which abusive and emotional opinions should not be expressed.

I find this discussion demoralizing and insulting to the spirit of LUCO Luohood. There let us tone it down for the well being of Luo unity which Anyuak people are part of. Mr. Langu, you need to be a unifying component as LUCO BOD chair. I hope you meant well in your article, but your argument about Anyuak identity left a lot answered.

If I may ask; What was the main objective of the article? Because it seems divisive rather than intellectually nourishing.

Let us avoid public character assassination as Luo, that way we provide our enemies
loopholes to come between us. Long live LUCO and Luo.

Sincerely,
Jaja Yogo
