According to the police, a rideshare driver in Chicago shot two individuals who allegedly stole his cellphone and fired at him while he was working overnight. The incident took place on the city’s West Side around 1 a.m. The 26-year-old driver, who holds a concealed carry license, had just dropped off a passenger when the robbery occurred in the 1500 block of Millard.
The suspects were identified as a 20-year-old man who was shot in the leg and an 18-year-old woman who was grazed by a bullet on her arm. Both individuals were described as being involved in the alleged robbery. The man was taken to the hospital in good condition, while the woman declined medical treatment.
Fortunately, the rideshare driver was not injured during the incident. The police have not specified the charges that the suspects may face, and the victim has not been charged with any wrongdoing.
The Chicago Police Department is currently investigating the incident.
