Calgary police are requesting assistance from the public in locating a 16-year-old girl who has been missing since Tuesday. Emma Braaten was last seen at 12:30 p.m. in the parking lot of the Walmart located at the East Hills Shopping Centre. She left the area on foot and her family is concerned for her well-being as she does not have a cellphone or means of communication.
Emma, who is known to frequent the Elliston Park and Applewood Park areas, is described as 168 centimetres (5’6″) tall, weighing between 59 to 64 kilograms (130 and 140 pounds). She has a medium build, blue eyes and long brown hair.
At the time of her disappearance, Emma was wearing a fuzzy white sweater, black pants, socks with writing on them and white Fila running shoes. Authorities clarify that there is no evidence of foul play and her case does not meet the criteria for issuing an Amber Alert.
