A Brave Officer’s Harrowing Encounter

A Minneapolis police officer exhibited tremendous bravery during a recent encounter with a suspect that left him with non-life-threatening injuries. The incident took place on a Saturday afternoon when officers responded to a report of a suspicious vehicle parked on the 3600 block of 42nd Street East.

The officers approached the vehicle and quickly discovered that the license plates were stolen. They immediately announced themselves and informed the driver, 27-year-old Presley Aaron Peltier, that he was under arrest for the stolen plates. However, Peltier had different plans in mind.

Without warning, Peltier put the car into drive and accelerated, causing one of the officers to become partially trapped inside the open driver’s-side door. The officer valiantly held on as the vehicle dragged him a short distance before crashing into a support pillar of a nearby building. Miraculously, the officer managed to roll away from the vehicle as it reversed.

Despite sustaining injuries during the incident, including being dragged and involved in a collision, the courageous officer carried out his duty. Alongside his fellow officers, he initiated a pursuit to apprehend Peltier. Unfortunately, it was eventually called off after they lost sight of the fleeing vehicle.

Undeterred, the injured officer took matters into his own hands and self-transported to the hospital. Thanks to his quick thinking and determination, he received the medical attention he needed without delay.

The Minneapolis Police Department is urging anyone with information about this incident or the whereabouts of Peltier to come forward. You can contact CrimeStoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477).
