Ottawa Police Investigate Shooting at Wedding, Leaving Two Dead and Six Injured

Ottawa police are currently investigating a shooting incident that took place on Saturday night, resulting in the deaths of two men and injuries to six individuals attending a wedding at a convention center located in south Ottawa. The incident occurred at approximately 10:21 p.m. on the 2900 block of Gibford Drive, near the Ottawa International Airport.

The shooting reportedly happened outside the convention center, according to a media release by the Ottawa Police Service. As of now, no arrests have been made in connection with the incident. The police are urging any witnesses to come forward and assist with the ongoing investigation.

The identities of the two deceased individuals have not been disclosed by the police, as they are in the process of notifying the next of kin. However, it has been confirmed that neither of the victims were residents of Ottawa.

The Ottawa Police Service expressed their concern and condemnation of the violence, describing it as tragic and unacceptable. They are also making efforts to provide support to the families affected by this incident and have reached out to community leaders for additional assistance.

This shooting marks the 11th and 12th homicides reported by the Ottawa Police this year. As a result, they are appealing to the public for any information related to the shooting.
