November 27, 2010 (BOR) — Governor of Jonglei state, Kuol Manyang Juuk urges the people of Twic East County to register and vote for the independence of South Sudan as a peaceful Nation, rather than remaining in unholy unity with the North.

Speaking during a public rally at Panyagor trading center, Manyang said: “we need peaceful secession, but not unholy unity; you have to know that, this is the only chance for the Southerners to secure independence of their region, and for the South to be recognized as a nation, every eligible voter should register and make sure he or she votes during the voting day”

He also implies that, failure of the registered voters to cast their votes on January 9. 2011, shall lead to low turnout of results over the registered voters that will consequently impede the possible independence of South Sudan.

He emphasizes that voters must keep their voting cards safely until the time of voting.

While Stressing about the referendum awareness, Manyang further calls on Women, Youth and Religious Associations to continue educating the population on the importance of referendum and says he will be behind them and the honorable Members of Parliament as well.

Governor Kuol (L), Commissioner Dau Akoi (C) and Minister Mayen Ngor(R)
