April 28, 2008 (Soba Al ARADI)  - A Prayer service drew more than 300 Anyuaks in Soba Al Aradi, South of Khartoum last Thursday April 24. Anyauk Community gathered in the funeral of the Eliza John Adongo Agada who died in a car accident last Saturday 19 of April. She was buried in Soba Al aradi in the evening of the same day. The mourning congregation was urged to stand firm in their Christian faith.

Eliza was a member of the Anyuak Presbyterian Church of Sudan. “ She grew up in the church,” said one speaker.

The accident occurred in the area of Githeina at around 4 A.M leaving at least 8 people dead including Eliza. In addition several passengers were seriously injured.

News of Eliza’s death was a great shock for all Anyuak Community in Sudan and elsewhere. “ It was a difficult time and great shock for the family”, lamented one family member.  
 
The whole of last week has been a time of sorrow and mourning for Anyuak Community in Sudan in particular and Anyuak Community worldwide.

The crashed bus was on a long trip from the town of Malakal the capital city of Upper Nile State in Southern part of Sudan to Khartoum.

Eliza left behind her a two-year old child. The child was traveling with her when the accident took place. Fortunately, she was miraculously saved.

Eliza is married to Okweri Ochogi who was in USA during the accident.

Eliza attended her education in Malakal and Khartoum. Last year she graduated from Ahfad University for Women in the field of Management with a degree.
