Suffolk Police are appealing for witnesses after a two-vehicle collision occurred in Thorington on August 27. The incident involved a grey Range Rover Evoke and a white Nissan Quashqai.
According to the authorities, they received a call about the crash at 10:55 pm on Sunday night. One of the four passengers in the Quashqai, a woman, suffered serious injuries and was taken to the Norfolk and Norwich hospital for treatment.
The driver of the Range Rover, a 26-year-old man, was arrested at the scene. He is currently under suspicion of failing to provide a breath test, driving with excess drugs, possession of drugs, causing serious injury by dangerous driving, and driving without insurance.
Following his arrest, the man was taken to Martlesham Heath Police Investigation Centre for questioning. However, he has since been released on police bail pending further investigation until September 24.
In an effort to gather more information about the incident, the police are urging witnesses to come forward. They are particularly interested in anyone who may have been driving in the area at the time of the collision and might have dashcam footage.
For those with relevant information, the police ask that you contact them and provide the CAD reference SC-27082023-326.
Authorities are hopeful that with the help of witnesses and any available evidence, they can piece together the details of the collision and determine the cause.
