One Fatality in Three-Vehicle Crash in Greenville County

The Greenville County Coroner’s Office in South Carolina has identified the victim of a fatal three-vehicle crash that occurred on Sunday morning. The incident took place at approximately 8 a.m. near Canty Road on Highway 247.

According to the South Carolina Highway Patrol, the crash involved a Toyota Tundra, a Honda Accord, and a Kia Stinger. The Toyota and Honda were both traveling north on Highway 247, while the Kia was heading south. Unfortunately, the Kia crossed the center line, leading to a collision with the Toyota. The impact from this collision caused the Honda to subsequently hit the Kia from behind.

Tragically, the driver of the Kia, identified as Parris Bashon Gantt (38) from Anderson, was pronounced dead at the scene by the Greenville County Coroner’s Office at approximately 7:58 a.m. An external examination of the body has been scheduled for Monday.

Emergency services transported the driver and passengers of the Toyota to a nearby hospital for treatment of their injuries. However, the driver of the Honda involved in the crash emerged without any injuries.

Authorities from the South Carolina Highway Patrol and the Greenville County Coroner’s Office are currently conducting an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the crash. Further updates will be provided as new information becomes available.
